The Center’s labs provide the ability to achieve consistency -- and then improve on it. By facilitating and offering groundbreaking research across all bio-based processing markets, the Center has a real and lasting impact on shaping of the renewable fuels industry and beyond.

Biofuels and bio-based material producers from around the world use the NCERC’s laboratories to find ways to increase yield, optimize processes, test new technologies, and to review the composition -- and corresponding value -- of co-products. Ideas, products and technologies are tested for the best inputs, the most efficient processes and the most valuable outputs.

Clients benefit from customized services, offered in a supportive, developmental or investigative environment and tailored to fit their individual needs. NCERC labs are managed by experienced industry experts with proven experience and a keen understanding of the future of renewable fuels. Lab personnel work closely with clients to set up an experimental design and methodology to optimize product evaluation, with processes carried out under conditions that closely simulate plant operations.

Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometer/Mass Spectrometer (LC/MS/MS) testing, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Near Infrared (NIR) analysis and other state-of-the-art analytical testing of the ethanol process is offered at the NCERC. Quality Assurance and Quality Control experts work closely with clients to ensure superior results that meet and exceed industry standards.

NCERC also offers a cutting edge environment for the evaluation of potential fermentation products at flask-scale and in 5-liter fermenters. Clients also benefit from scalability: the option to take their process from the lab to intermediate scale to pilot scale in one facility, using NCERC’s Fermentation Suite and Pilot Plant.

Now more than ever, efficiency and optimization matter in moving the renewable fuels industry forward. Contact us today to learn more about the NCERC’s laboratory services.
